Global Irish Design Challenge [GIDC] was launched in 2015 to celebrate Irish design innovation and to activate a global network of talent across Ireland and extending worldwide. Representing the best of Irish design innovation in every form over 50 selected entries will be showcased in a high-profile Global Irish Design Challenge exhibition at the Coach House in Dublin Castle opening on June 15th, continuing until August 27th 2016.

This seminar Global Challenges – Design Solutions coincides with the GIDC exhibition launch exploring three of the prominent themes, which arise within the GIDC entries: Health, Work and Sustainability. Nine of the designers represented have been invited to discuss their innovative design projects, which we feel have the power to change our lives and address global challenges. A Key Note address will be presented by one of the Global Irish Design Challenge judges; Hideichi Misono Board Member of the Japan Industrial Designers’ Association, eminent automotive / industrial designer and researcher.

The seminar will be followed by a private view of the GIDC exhibition at the Coach House at 5pm before the official exhibition launch at 6.30pm.
